Michael M. Baker

Michael Baker is a Partner with Peterson Law, LLP. Since joining the firm in 2017, Mr. Baker has practiced in all aspects of civil litigation, with a focus on business and real estate matters. He creates practical litigation strategies to obtain successful results on behalf of public and private companies and individual clients. Mr. Baker is also experienced in appellate litigation and has handled appeals for Fortune 500 clients. Mr. Baker is licensed in both California and Nevada.

Prior to joining Peterson Law, LLP, as a Partner, Mr. Baker was a Senior Associate at a large real estate litigation firm with a national presence. He independently managed a high-volume caseload and distinguished himself as an expert in landlord-tenant litigation.

He gained extensive experience as a trial attorney and regularly conducted successful settlement negotiations on behalf of clients. In that position, Mr. Baker prided himself on advising large business clients in a challenging and constantly evolving area of law and developed valuable practical skills that continue to inform his practice and benefit current clients.

Mr. Baker was admitted to the California Bar in 2010 after receiving his Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego School of Law. While at USD Law, he was a recipient of the Dean’s Outstanding Scholar Award, a merit-based scholarship. He was also appointed to a position on the editorial board of the San Diego International Law Journal and was a member of Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity. Prior to law school, he received his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, with a double major in English and Philosophy with an emphasis on Ethics and Public Policy.
